Buy honey from La Gomera and guarapo (sugar cane juice).
If you visit La Gomera, the emblematic town of Chipude is a must-see, when there is a flea market where you can buy the most typical and authentic products of the island. From traditional and very famous liqueurs, such as guarapo or gomerón, to the famous palm honey from the tree that populates a large part of the island's territory, at this market you can smell, touch and feel the very essence of the island.
Buy handicrafts, traperas (traditional woollen bags) and wine in Chipude
Although only recently created, this market in the centre of La Gomera, near the famous laurel forest of the Garajonay National Park, has established itself as one of the island's main attractions. With music and children's entertainment, visitors can buy cheese, wine, decorative items made from macramé and raffia or the traditional woollen bags called traperas, ideal for carrying a towel and then enjoying a dip in the Atlantic. If you don't visit Chipude, you will miss an essential part of the island's essence.
