Festival de Música Religiosa de Canarias

The Church of La Asunción in San Sebastián de La Gomera will host the concert Spiritual Songs and Arias by Johann Sebastian Bach as part of the 19th Canary Islands Festival of Religious Music. This program features a selection of pieces published in the Musicalisches Gesang-Buch by Georg Christian Schemelli (1736), in which Bach collaborated, including arias such as Komm, süßer Tod and O Jesulein süß, o Jesulein mild. Additionally, arias from cantatas like Schlummert ein from BWV 82 and Höchster, mache deine Güte from BWV 51 will be performed, along with keyboard compositions such as chorales and fantasias.
