Chácaras and Drums Gathering

The municipality of Alajeró hosts the seventh edition of the Chácaras and Drums Gathering, an event that celebrates and promotes the most deeply rooted musical and oral traditions of La Gomera. Musicians from across the island come together to share the Romance, the Décima, and the Drum Dance, in a day filled with talks, tributes, performances by folklore schools, and a communal meal. Organized by the Chácaras and Drums Lasaoi Cultural Association and the Department of Culture, this gathering stands as a key space for intergenerational exchange and the preservation of Gomera’s cultural heritage.
