October 2028
Every 5 years, sailors and fishermen decorate their boats with flowers and flags and bring the Virgin from her house in Puntallana to San Sebastián, blowing the boats' horns while other parishioners dance, sing and play traditional instruments. During October the Virgin is carried in a procession around the island. Returning to his hermitage to protect all the fishermen in their work.
The humble hermitage of Puntallana is where the Virgin of Guadalupe is venerated, for the enjoyment of seafaring pilgrims, under the protection of an impressive cliff. The sanctuary was raised by the counts in gratitude for the conquest. The image of the Virgin seen today is a small Gothic piece, miraculously appearing long ago in a cave surrounded by sparkling, brilliant lights.
