Carnival of San Sebastian de La Gomera

The San Sebastián de La Gomera Carnival, 2 to 17 February 2024, will feature a local holiday on 13 February for Mardi Gras. This year's theme is ‘The Jungle.’
The mayor of San Sebastián underscored the community's collective excitement for the upcoming carnival, a time for uninhibited revelry and shared delight. ‘From crafting dazzling costumes for the gala to dancing their hearts out in the parade and turning the Day of the Talcum Powder into a joyous cloud, the heart and soul of this carnival comes from the passionate involvement of our residents,’ she enthused. From intricately beaded costumes that shimmer like jewels to fantastical floats that soar through the streets and synchronised dance routines that tell vibrant stories, the creativity in this carnival is contagious, drawing crowds from across the islands.
